very berry

a few weeks ago, i learned that using frozen fruit in smoothies
is a genius idea, as it eliminates the need for ice,
which most blenders have trouble grinding,
ruining the smooth texture.
so when berries went on sale the other week,
i bought a container of each and stuck 'em in the freezer.
with a little bit of vanilla yogurt and milk -mmm.
not to mention, frozen blueberries are a really good snack!

vitaminerals

remember that little problem i have with swallowing pills?
well. i went to target looking for gummy vitamins this week
and quickly became frustrated at the daily percentages
of vitamins and minerals listed in the two brands they carried.
why on earth would i want 233% of a recommended daily dose
of something? overkill.
plus, a lot of the vitamins and minerals i really wanted
(such as iron and B12, as i am a vegetarian)
weren't even in them!
so what did i do? started browsing the children's vitamins!

and lo and behold, i found some chewable tablets
that contained everything i was looking for
in appropriate percentages.
now i have bear, lion, elephant, and monkey vitamins
in grape, cherry, and orange flavors
that i can successfully take everyday without feeling sick!
hip hip hooray

though a bit chalky, these vitamins are so. much. better.

over the fence

people generally speak of "wearing many hats"
(teacher, student, friend, parent...you get the idea)
but i seem to constantly be showcasing
the many sides of my personality through shoes.

sparkly black pointy-toed flats
black converse all-star chuck taylors
tall tan wedges with gold studs
battered brown reef sandals
ruffly black heels

well, recently i found this athletic pair in my closet
that my father bought me years ago.
i never wore them because well,
to be quite honest i thought they were ugly.
but time has passed and upon trying them on again
i realized they're really comfortable and supportive
and more attractive then i remembered.
plus, they seem to have a bit of a platform on the bottom
giving me a little height lift. always a bonus.

these babies and i have started walking the bridge
(approx. 3 miles with quite an incline)
every sunday evening with my long-time friend michelle.
and most recently, they played catch
with my little sister who broke out our
softball gloves from the storage box in the garage.
now i'm quite fond of them.

why iii prefer liquid medicine

one thing that i have always been a big failure at is swallowing pills. though i have a friend that can literally throw a handful of pills into her mouth and effortlessly swallow them all at once i am not even capable of swallowing one average sized (okay, small) pill by itself

i swish and toss and gulp to no end and still, those damn pills get stuck in my throat or on my tongue and wont. go. down

why is this relevant? because a few days back i decided to start taking a daily multivitamin. the first day, i got nauseous. the second day, i got a stomachache. and the third day, i only swallowed 1/4 of the pill. ONE FOURTH. that's right...i cut my one multivitamin into FOUR pieces. and could only swallow one of them.

what a sad sight.
speaking of which, i recorded myself trying to swallow a piece of the pill just to prove how awful i am at taking vitamins. tomorrow, i'm buying the chewable Flintstones or gummy bear vitamins.
that's right, gummy viiitamins, i say!

AHAHAHA
that video cracks me up because
1) it shows how ridiculous i look trying to take medicine
2) that is NOT how my voice sounds in my head!
listening to myself on recordings is weiiird.
