i had to park on the roof of my garage again. in other news, i found out that i'll be completing my field experience observations in a second grade classroom this semester. which is awesome, cause i've already observed kindergarten and first grade in my program. annnd, we acted out the beginning, middle, and end of fairy tales via freeze frame in class today. whaaaaat.

the weather this morning wasn't looking so good. but knowing that i wanted to go out on the water,

my dad decided to take a risk and spend another sunday on the boat. the waves were big and we were the first people to reach morris island. we thought we were crazy for being there. but as the day went on, more&more boaters joined us and it turned into a long, eventful day complete with cajun boiled peanuts from the burrito babe. and of course, raft floating.

i think a lot of people get so caught up in the everyday rush of their lives that they forget to slow down every once in a while to appreciate and enjoy the special things all around them. after an accident on the bridge caused the blockage of two traffic lanes on my way home from class, i ended up taking an alternate route home. but rather than driving straight back, i opted to take a ride to the beach for a relaxing experience. it was soo nice to just enjoy the fresh air, walk in the water, dream about my perfect beach house, and watch the sun begin to fall. then, i continued my mundance life schedule with dinner at home.

after finishing five summer courses {all of which i earned an A in!!} i had seven days of summer vacation to enjoy. they're over now. so you know what that means...back to school. i'm taking 3 classes this semester & am hopiiing to not procrastinate as much. after all, i don't want to have another breakdown because i overwhelmed myself at the last minute. then again, i always say that. so what did i wear for my first day of class? a new dress, of course. i love the black and tan splatter look. it reminds me of outer space! i'm also obsessed with the asymmetrical sleeves and ruffle neckline.

omgahhh! i just realized i forgot to tell you all about the most ridiculous and amazing compliment slash pick-up line i have everrr received! story time. a few weeks ago, i went out with one of my best friends {michelle} and her college roommates, who were visiting from out of town. we went to a bar named henry's to listen to some live music by a super talented guitar player and singer that we went to school with. though i contemplated bailing on the late-night shenanigans, i was really glad that i went. it was nice to get out and hang with some giiirls. and jesse is completely sexy. and for the record, i do not throw that terminology out lightly. oh, and i sat on his lap for a few minutes. hahaha. legit. anyways, the best part of the evening was on our walk to the parking garage. you see, a group of guys were sitting on the curb on the opposite side of the street as us. while crossing the intersection, one of the guys began yelling, "hey girl in the red pants! girl in the red pants! i want to buy you everything!" umm thanks, i said with a smile. "and in 25 years i want to give you half of my shit!" how flatttering. he managed to propose marriage and divorce simultaneously! while offering me monetary goods. ding! ding! ding! we have a winner, folks. it truly made my night. so thank you, random drunk-sitting-on-the-curb-guy, i'm glad you liked my red skinny pants. much love.

i spent the whole day out on the boat with my dad today. really. we were out on the water by 10 a.m. and didn't come home til 6 p.m. it was nice hanging out, just the two of us, since our schedules rarely provide any time to talk or have fun. you see, i'm usually at school or work by the time he comes home and i'm always asleep when he leaves for work in the morning. luckily, i still have sundays off from work, and since both of us love going out the boat, we've started trying to get out on the water more. throughout the day, i...

wasting away

after returning from hilton head, i spent saturday night drinking margaritas and eating funfetti cake at a friend's jimmy buffett/margaritaville themed birthday party on sullivan's island. though a surplus of mosquitos drove many guests in attendance to seek shelter indoors, myself included, we entertained ourselves with ipod games, rapping, and picture-taking. cheers!

with only a week of summer left before the fall semester starts, i headed to hilton head to visit my mom for a few days. with nicholas along for the ride, we played with my mom's new dog {Dakota}, ate pizza, and watched dramatic documentaries about sociopaths. on the return trip home, i tortured nicholas with endless "would you rather" questions, much to my delight!

i found one of the coolest little black dresses i have ever seen and bought it for seven dollars!

it's quite possibly the most stylish thing in my wardrobe now. once my new camera is in-hand, i'll post pictures. but until then, you have this sneak-peek (see the ruffly sleeves).  i also got a red curduroy skirt and this super cute black and tan dress...i love it oh so much!

to me, nights with brittany mean pink champagne, closet criticizing, "drunken publicness", water balloon mutiny, backfired plans, and laughing so hard i can't breathe. oh, and having guys in the backseat of a car flirt with you at traffic lights via cardboard signs with messages such as you're cute, call me, & settle down. then, when you least expect it, they throw an ice cream cone {filled with vanilla} at your freaking windshield where it splatters all over the damn place! clearrrly becoming one of the most random acts of rowdiness experienced in one's lifetime.

my aunt & uncle recently visited charleston to get a summer dose of the beach, local shrimp, boiled peanuts, and sun. one of my favorite times spent with them was listening to reggae music while drinking a frozen pina colada with whipped cream, toasted coconut, and swirls of strawberry at coconut joe's. afterwards, my family took a long walk on the beach until darkness ensued.

after my camera stopped working, i was inspired to buy to a micro-sd card, so that after 2 years of owning my cell phone, i would fiiinally be able to get my pictures transferred to my computer. i'm a procrastinator. truth. though a lot of what's on my phone camera is old, it's survived being deleted after all this time for a reason. sooo, i might as well give them their 15 minutes of fame...such as this picture of a thick, gray jacket with boggle buttons that i once owned for a few days. i deeply regret returning it {it doesn't get cold here often, so i didn't think it was worth the $. and i wished it was more fitted. bad judgment on my part} alas, it's gone.

my camera died. yes, that's right...died. lens error. though it feels like a piece of my soul is missing, i've been taking photos on my cell phone camera, which you will be viewing for the next few weeks until i decide on a replacement and resume my daily photo shenanigans. so for starters, how amazing are these shoes?! the store only had a size 6 and 10. i wear nine&ahalf.
