...lose your head in the clouds.

nicholas and i woke up in atlantic city at 6am and hopped back in our rental car for the 2+ hour road trip back to the newark airport for our morning flight. despite a quick stop for doughnuts and coffee, nicholas was incapable of staying awake and had to render control over to me. i was quite proud of myself for successfully reading the directions and navigating unfamiliar roads without a wing-man.

luckily for us, our plane flew out of the least crowded terminal so we got through airport security with enough time leftover to buy grilled vegetable sandwiches and read. once boarded, nicholas fell asleep before take-off while i was enchanted by window views. i can't even explain how much i love flying through clouds! seeing everything on earth become teeny-tiny and staring out at the horizon had me hard-core contemplating life.

...visit AC (or don't).

on friday, i joined nicholas' aunt stephanie, aunt sherry, and cousin carolyn on a trip to the mall while the boys stayed in the basement playing madden all afternoon. upon returning, nicholas and i packed our bags and were given a ride to the airport, where we rented a car and headed to atlantic city to meet up my family for the night.

it was one of those roadtrips that either make or break a couple. & let's just say, nicholas gets cranky when he doesn't eat and barely spoke to me for a couple of hours. ha ha...umm, things got significantly better when we were able to enjoy some fruity liquor drinks at a sushi bar, watch a lights show, and pop in-and-out of casinos. that is until, some drama between my sister and cousin built up and we had an awkward diner meal at 2am, followed by my sister spending the night in the hotel closet.

...jets! jets! jets!

despite being an eagles fan by birth, i had fun cheering for nicholas' jets at the game on thanksgiving (which we almost didn't get to attend). due to the freezing weather, most of his family members decided to stay in the warm basement, watching the game on their wall-sized screen. luckily for us, his uncle chuck felt more inclined to be there, which nicholas and i were more than happy to hear. afterall, it's an NFL game. on thanksgiving. in the freezing cold. how often do i get that opportunity!?

...be thankful.

thanksgiving 2010: morristown, new jersey. doughnuts. 30+ italians. vodka sprites with lime. pasta. snow flurries. mimosas. baguettes & pesto. air hockey. wine. sweet potatoes. olives. football. see a trend here? visiting nicholas' relatives is always a fun time cause there's always lots of food. and alcohol. plus, they're all craaazy. haha. in a good, hilarious way.
