ninetyninecents swiss miss

every once in a while a coupon for fonduely yours turns up in the charleston city paper, which i look for religiously. it's one of nicholas and i's favorite date-night restaurants...the food is awesome, the experience is fun, and one of the managers is a guy we played in the high school band with (let's just say he gives us a bottle of wine and dessert. and hooked us up with a blonde-headed slut and fun dip shot, which were the equivalent size of a mixed drink). we alwaysss have a good time when eating there. always. quite possibly because i'm always drunk by the end of the meal. hahaha. anyways, we went there Tuesday night. apples&cheese, salad, stuffed mushrooms, fried zucchini, chocolate covered marshmellows. mmm, just some of my favorites. the next morning, we totally-not-on-purpose woke up at 7AM (ughhh) and it was freezing, so bundled up in warm clothes we ate breakfast and sipped hot chocolate on the couch while watching some NFL show. i don't know why, but I really liked it!
i want to remember this morning.

float like a butterfly...

guesssss whaaaat...i got a camera! ahhhhhhh. thank goodness. at first i wasn't super excited. i was really attached to my old one, afterall. but i'm trying to get used to it. i think it's growing on me. check out these pictures of a monarch butterfly i took.

...sting like a bee

did you know that wasps eat caterpillars? i had no idea. until i saw it happen outside my window twiiice. yea, there's this whole giant web of silk where probably 100 caterpillars live atop a tree right outside my window. it's like my own personal butterfly farm. cha-ching! i think the property value just went up. of course i'm only kidding. though i would be really excited if they all spun cocoons and turned into butterflies. until then, i find them both disturbing and fascinating at the same time.

fiesta for the cure

october is breast cancer awareness month, so we got pink shirts at work. they're actually really cool, design-wise. in addition, we're raising money for the susan g. komen foundation by selling bracelets and accepting monetary donations. it's a little awkward asking tables if they want to contribute but i managed to sell three bracelets on friday night! saturday, notsomuch. hell, i couldn't even get a decent tip on saturday. just one of those days. anyways, nicholas came over to hang out, but i had drank three glasses of wine so when my dad asked him for assistance moving a tv out of the living room, i fell asleep. he had only been gone for five minutes, but i was out cold. hahah.
i'm part narcoleptic.

pass the popcorn

let it be known that i love emma stone! she's so awesome. i first came to this realization after envying her leather jacket in zombieland. and wanting to dye my hair red. but thats besides the point. as soon as i heard the plot to her newest movie, easy a, i knew i wanted to see it! so nicholas and i went to palmetto grande today, where we ate popcorn and bought temporary tattoos. so fun. i put a snake on his wrist and a spider behind his ear. he gave me...a tramp stamp. how original.
