this year, for memorial day

my dad started up the boat

& we took it out for a practice run,

which happened to be quite successful.

it ran great & we got to

spend the afternoon on morris island.

people that know me,

know that i love to throw parties.

besides my annual costume party for halloween,

i also occasionally like to have birthday luaus

(which i'm 95.23769% sure will also become annual).

here's a highlight of this year's celebration

i'm kind of a big deal

dinner with friends was fun

but my day of birth was celebrated

yet again in the form of a family dinner

at miyabis on friday night.

what can i say? we like japanese.

Happy Birthday to MEEE!

That's right, folks...23 years old today.

Seeing as how my birthday was on a Monday

and I had an 8:00 exam on Tuesday,

I didn't celebrate with friends until the 25th.

We had dinner at Yamato's,

a japanese hibachi restaurant.

For the 2nd year in a row,

I caught the shrimp!

as evidenced in this video:

I got some pretty roses from Nicholas

balloons and a cupcake from my dad

and a fancy towel warmer from my mom

a day in the life {hilton head}

after a stressful week,

i headed to hilton head for a few days

reading textbooks was entirely too boring

for me, so i spent a majority

of the time taking pictures.

over the weekend brittany was asked

to take pictures for a friend before they went

downtown to celebrate the graduation of a friend

but when A's camera didn't work

i took pictures for them on my canon.

we met up with our girlfriends to help them

finish getting primped, then headed

over to alhambra hall.

one of nicholas' friends got married this past sunday.

it was at 4:00 and though i was worried

about overheating in the sun

the weather turned out to be beautiful.

not gonna lie, it was a little awkward

because we didn't know any of the other guests

but it was a really sweet ceremony.

summer school

congratulations to me.

my summer lasted an entire 5 days.

as of monday, i'm back in school

with both a Maymester and May Evening course.

the good part?

it's still nice enough to spend time outside

so i can read my textbooks on the beach.

at the pool. atop a hammock. & in the park.

the other good news?

I actually like the classes I'm taking right now.

today is the 48th anniversary

of my father's day of birth

there's been UPS and certainly some DOWNS,

but I consider him to be 

the most influential and comical

person in my life...

without whom I would never have experienced

such amazing travel opportunities

or have become the person that I am today

(for better or for worse)

so thanks and...
